Armenia's Foreign Ministry lists this country among those whose citizens, and holders of whose travel documents, can apply for a visitor visa only at Armenia's diplomatic representations or consular posts abroad, and only with an invitation.

From 1 July 2026 to 1 July 2027, nationals of 111 listed countries who hold a residence permit issued by the US, an EU or Schengen state, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait or Oman, valid for at least six months from entry, can enter without a visa and stay up to 180 days within a one-year period. The permit must be a physical card or a passport sticker; the border authorities may recognise it if it shows, in Latin script, the document title, name, nationality, date of birth and validity dates.

Syria is party to the 1949 Geneva Convention and Armenia to the 1968 Vienna Convention. They share none, so no treaty obliges Armenia to recognize an International Driving Permit issued in Syria.
Whether a permit is required alongside your national license is set by national road law, which we have not checked for this pair.

- Passport validity — Armenia's Foreign Ministry says your passport needs to be valid during the whole period of your stay. Canada's travel advice says your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date you expect to leave Armenia.
No official source states a rule on: travel insurance, onward or return ticket, and proof of funds.
