Saint Lucia visa and entry requirements

Saint Lucia's Department of External Affairs visa list marks citizens of the UK, the US, Canada, China and EU member states, among others, as needing no visa. EU citizens may stay up to 90 days in any 180-day period under the EU waiver agreement; the UK and Canadian governments say their citizens can stay up to six weeks, and the UK says to apply to the Immigration Department in Castries to extend. No official source we could read gives the length of stay for other visa-free passports. The list marks Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago as needing no visa and Haiti as needing one. Citizens of other listed countries and territories, including India, need a visa the list marks as issued at the port of entry, and those it marks "prior to arrival" need the visa before they arrive; no official source we could read says where that visa is issued.

International Driving Permit

Saint Lucia's Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act (section 30, Revised Laws of Saint Lucia, published by the Attorney General's Chambers) says the Licensing Authority may issue a visitor's driving permit to a visitor who holds a valid licence issued in his or her country of residence; the permit is valid for not more than 3 months and authorises driving only the category of vehicle that licence allows.
