Jordan's Ministry of Interior says Article 14 of the Residence and Foreigners Affairs Law obliges managers of hotels, hostels and hotel apartments, and anyone who houses a foreigner, to notify the Public Security Directorate within 48 hours of the foreigner's arrival or departure. It says Article 11 requires any foreigner wishing to stay more than two weeks to complete a declaration at the Public Security Directorate, to document their place of residence. Violating Article 11 or 14 is fined 200 dinars (Article 36). The UK government says the 14-day reporting rule does not apply to tourists, pilgrims, transit-visa holders or annual-residency holders. Australia's Smartraveller says travellers on visit, single, long-term or multiple-entry visas issued by the Ministry of the Interior must register their residency details at the immigration desk on arrival at the airport.

If not done: Fine of 200 dinars for violating Article 11 or 14 of the Residence and Foreigners Affairs Law (Article 36).
