Oman visa for Vietnamese citizens

Oman's Foreign Ministry says that to obtain the 14-day visa exemption, citizens of the second-list countries must either be residents of, or hold a valid entry visa for, the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, a Schengen Agreement country or Japan, or be residents of a Gulf Cooperation Council country in one of the professions that benefit from the resident visa.

The Royal Oman Police grants its GCC Resident Visa to foreign residents of GCC countries who visit Oman for tourism, provided they hold professions it specifies. It needs no sponsor and allows a single entry and a stay of four weeks, extendable for one week.

The stay cannot be extended, and a passport valid for six months, a return ticket, a hotel reservation, health insurance and enough money are required.

Yellow fever certificate
Arriving from Vietnam, no yellow fever certificate is required: WHO does not list Vietnam as a transmission risk. It can still be demanded if you have been in a risk country shortly before arriving.
Driving on a Vietnam license
Oman and Vietnam are both party to the 1968 Vienna Convention, so an International Driving Permit issued in Vietnam is one Oman is bound to recognize.
Whether a permit is required alongside your national license is set by national road law, which we have not checked for this pair.
